Christmas Candlelight Service: Wednesday, December 21, 7:30pm

The Board of Directors are thrilled to be welcoming the Mosleys to our community and to partnering with them to bring forth God’s divine plan for Unity of Vancouver.

Glenn and Martha will continue the very popular Unity of Vancouver tradition of the

Christmas Candle Lighting Service,

which is based on the metaphysical interpretation of the Christmas story. This service will be held on

Wednesday December 21st at 7:30 pm, at Unity of Vancouver.

As leaders in the Unity movement, Glenn and Martha have promoted the global growth of New Thought spirituality based on peace, positivity, non-dogmatic Christian mysticism, and metaphysics.

Their focus on inter-faith inclusivity brings a refreshing perspective that transcends the more dogmatic paths of many organized religions and encourages the much-needed debate required to ensure that spirituality remains relevant in the 21st century.

If you were not able to experience the Mosley’s in action at their “Healing Hover Touch” workshop, or their September 11th service with us, you can hear a podcast of their service by clicking here.

Special Service & Potluck Welcome- Sunday, December 4th, 2011

The Transformation Team invites you to join us on

Sunday, December 4, 2011

for a special day designed  to honour the journey we have walked together over this past year and a half and to welcome our new ministers Glenn and Martha Mosley.

The Special Sunday service will be led by the Transformation Team and include a ritual to honour our journey and release anything that no longer serves so we can now enter into a positive, co-creative relationship with our new minsters.

We will also introduce our new minsters,

the Reverends Glenn and Martha Mosley!

At the Potluck Luncheon* after the service we will decorate a Christmas tree with our hopes and dreams for the future of  Unity of Vancouver.

Our community art project will be revealed in our art gallery and there will be an opportunity to add to it if you have not already contributed a piece.

*Please sign up at the desk or email Randa if you can contribute something to the potluck.

Reverend Joy Young – Sunday November 20th & 27th

Sunday November 20 & 27th, 2011

11:00 a.m.

Unity of Vancouver Welcomes:
Reverend Joy Young

Rev. Joy comes from a teaching and coaching background. She holds a BA (English and Psychology) and a Master’s Degree in Counselling. A lifelong learner herself, Joy is committed to supporting others in the ongoing  process of Spiritual transformation, awakening, and renewal.  As a Unity minister, Rev. Joy is passionately dedicated to opening hearts, planting seeds, and touching lives.

Her purpose is to encourage, inspire, uplift and enlighten! Rev. Joy was ordained in 1992.  She ‘pioneered’ a Unity group on Orcas Island, WA and one in Newport, OR and served as senior minister for Unity of the Valley in White Rock, BC for several years.  The call to travel led to completing Transitional Specialist training and serving in Venice, FL, Madison, WI, and Hamilton, ON before returning to serve in the Greater Vancouver area, both at Unity In Action in New Westminster, and at Unity of Vancouver. Rev, Joy is a popular Guest Speaker, well known for her ‘great energy’, quick wit, and easy rapport with audiences that creates and sustains a sense of coherence and connection.

Joy currently serves through her own ministry, “With Joy Ministries” offering Spiritual Coaching With Joy, Circles and Workshops With Joy, Celebration of Life Memorials and Weddings With Joy.

“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.”~  Teilhard des Jardin

Reverend Terry Shea – Sunday, November 13, 2011

UNITY OF VANCOUVER

Welcomes Guest Speaker

Reverend Terry Shea

Sunday November 13, 2011

Reverend  Terry was raised in Southern Ontario and Nova Scotia. He began his spiritual life as a Roman Catholic practicing as a Trappist/Cistercian Monk, but for many years has been a licensed Minister with the Centers for Spiritual Living (CSL) in B.C.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from SFU, a Masters of Arts degree in Theatre from UBC, as well as a Certificate in the Sacred Art of Living and Dying.

In addition to his pastoral work at the CSL in White Rock, Rev. Terry has a private counselling and spiritual direction practice in Delta. He is also a seminar leader who conducts personal healing and growth seminars, an educator and coach who taught at Vancouver College for 13 years, and is currently serving as a chaplain at the Delta Hospice.

Perhaps most importantly, Rev. Terry describes himself as an extremely happy and fulfilled man.

He will be drawing from John 10:10 ”I am come that you might have life and have it to the full.”  Rev. Terry states that “my take on it will be based on one of the Principles from the Declaration of Principles by Dr. Ernest Holmes, specifically … ‘We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.’

It is the faith expressed in this statement, especially in the second phrase that has always struck me most powerfully: ‘This goal is SURE to be attained by all.’”

Unity Meditation Evenings – Wednesdays 6:30 -8:00 p.m. until November 30th.

Welcome to Unity Meditation Evenings

 ReConnect – ReGenerate – ReCreate

Wednesdays 6:30 to 8:00 PM ~ Lower Level

until November 30th

Reconnect with your higher self, regenerate your mind/body connection and recreate your life for wellness, relationships and abundance.

Our time together will consist of 3 segments.

First a guided meditation will assist us in letting go of the day’s stress.  This will include short breathing exercises and some “yoga for the rest of us”, a light way to address body tensions without requiring your Lulu’s or a mat.

This is followed by a silent meditation.

The third aspect is a facilitated conversation geared to support you in bringing meditation to your everyday life. There are a multitude of ways to meditate and sharing these in a wholistic conversation will cap off out time together.

We will also be include a conversation in preparing for the Mosley’s arrival.

Co-lead with Lynn Keeling, the last half-hour will review the Hover Healing Touch that was introduced to us by the Moseley’s.
